I was quite chuffed to be asked to write a piece about my books for the Loughborough College monthly newsletter.
I’d kept my day job and my writing separate for a long time, but it seemed like a good opportunity to self-promote, and reveal myself to my colleagues as the pretentious bellend I am (just kidding, I’m not pretentious).
It felt good to write about my views on self-publishing, which is slowly becoming more legitimate as the years roll by. You only have to look at the success of ‘The Martian’ to see that people don’t care about the publishing house, they care about the story, and how it’s presented (professionally edited, professional book cover, etc.)
I fully hope to see hundreds of college staff walking around with my book in their hands, or on their desks. As long as I don’t find any in the bin, I’m golden.
